COMBI recertification: ETW + ETT

Your European Tree WORKER certification (as long as it hasn’t expired yet) and your European Tree TECHNICIAN certification can be renewed together upon request. Dual certification and the use of both titles/logos (ETT + ETW) is possible!
Since both the European Tree Worker and European Tree Technician certifications are valid for three years, it is possible to renew both certificates together upon request. This aligns the expiration dates, making administration and planning easier for both the certified individual and the certification body.
Example 1: ETW expiration date 12/2024, ETT expiration date 12/2025 → new joint expiration date after successful recertification: 12/2028
Example 2: ETT expiration date 12/2025, ETW expiration date 12/2026 → new joint expiration date after successful recertification: 12/2029
  • Application for recertification – please fill out this form: Link

  • Copy of certificate or ID card

  • Proof of at least 2 years of tree care activity (in a consulting and/or management position) within the 3-year validity period

  • Proof of physical and mental ability to carry out tree care operations safely, with a medical certificate (For Austria max. validity is: 3 years or otherwise specified by physician).

  • Proof of a valid qualification in first aid, according to the national regulations (For Austria max. validity is: 4 years; refresher courses are eligible).

  • Proof of a total of 45 hours of continuing education* in tree care within the 3-year validity period (not in the bonus year!)

  • Cost: €239.00 excl. VAT (2025)

ETW + ETT recertifications will only be approved by the EAC if all required documentation is received by the EAC no later than December 31, one year AFTER the certification expires. This means that if your certification expires in 2025, you can submit your recertification application no later than the end of 2026.

You can find out exactly when your certification expires on your certificate or on the EAC website (www.eac-arboriculture.com).
